I love the 4th of July! It is the one time of the year that I get to visit with so many of my relatives. For the past 40 years my mother and father have hosted a barbecue for all of my relatives and sometimes, some of their friends. We have been known to have over a 150 people to join us for barbecue on that day! I am so thankful to my parents for encouraging family traditions with my children so that they may know their extended family so well!
Question~ Does your children know their Great-Great Aunts and Uncles as well as their distant cousins?

Yevette! Me too! We love the 4th. My daughter and her family live way up-north mich. in Glen Arbor and they host a grand family day on the 4th!. The best parade ever...with more candy tossed then Halloween! The Grands all go crazy at the parade, such fun. I paint faces and decorate hairdos with sparkly stars and everyone gets a flag to wave...They even toss hotdogs!!! all cooked wrapped and ready to eat, It's a hoot. We all look forward to it every year..After the parade we gather at the lake for a day of swimming and picknicking...Hope your time together is just wonderful, thanks for sharing, xoxo~Kathy @ Sweet Up-North Mornings...
