¾ Cup White Karo Corn Syrup
Combine, shake, let settle 4 hours.
Store covered in refrigerator to extend suds shelf life.
Allow to warm before using.

And Reagan makes it "A Cute Wedding"....

Reagan and Faith ~ Flowergirls!
Whitney ~ Bridesmaid
My future daughter-in-love, Jackie and Chase, my son!
My Beautiful Baby Doll ~ Faith!!!
Her sister, Haley, will be featured later!

I know you are saying.... Another Wedding??? Yes, I am in the Season of My Life where everyone is getting married!!! This wedding~my niece Lauren Cook.
The wedding was cute with the Bride being the star and the flower girl adding the entertainment! Reagan, pictured below, was given her instructions on how to be the perfect flower girl...... The problem, Reagan was also told at the end of rehearsal to pick her flower petals back up! So of course at the wedding, my sweet little Reagan went back to pick up ALL of the flower petals that she had dropped. It took numerous trips up and down the aisle before she had picked all of the pink petals up. When she finally picked up all of the petals midway through the ceremony, she sweetly went to the front, grabbed my daughters hand and stood there...... UNTIL the married couple went down the aisle and messed up the aisle runner!!! She quickly took it upon herself to go and straighten out the runner. It was a hard job for one so young...... PLUS she had the wedding party backed up behind her. At that point my wonderful brother-in-law (father of the bride) slid out of his seat and patiently helped Regan straighten out the aisle runner to Reagan's approval! It was a beautiful and sweet wedding! More pictures and info. coming later when I can pull more pictures from my son's camera!!!

Summer Fun....

For many young children, this is the first summer they are able to play with a water hose!
We had "no watering" restrictions for the last few years!
As a child playing with a water hose was one of the greatest things that Mama let us do!

Charmed, I'm Sure......

After attending "Art and Soul" and also loving my friend Debbie's necklace, I had to make me one! I went through all of my vintage jewelry, vintage trinkets and charms collecting anything that was "Yvette" or as my niece's and nephew's call me E. I sat for a couple of hours attaching the pieces to an old silver necklace and this is what I ended up with! I think I will wear it to the wedding next week! I am sure everyone will think I am "Charming"...... LOL

Star of the 4th of July...

I love the 4th of July! It is the one time of the year that I get to visit with so many of my relatives. For the past 40 years my mother and father have hosted a barbecue for all of my relatives and sometimes, some of their friends. We have been known to have over a 150 people to join us for barbecue on that day! I am so thankful to my parents for encouraging family traditions with my children so that they may know their extended family so well!
Question~ Does your children know their Great-Great Aunts and Uncles as well as their distant cousins?

You will find this piece and previous pieces FOR SALE at Vintage Village!

Tussie Mussie Time....

Would this not be a wonderful treat hanging on your front door
when you arrived home?
I love tussie mussies!
These are somewhat your modern day tussie mussie's holding treats.

During the nineteenth century the "tussie-mussie" reached great popularity as a means for lovers to convey secret messages of sentiment and affection in a proper Victorian society. During this time it was considered more suitable for young women to wear flowers moreso than jewelry. Proper Victorian ladies would up at fashionable social gatherings carrying their "tussie-mussies" and could have been questioned on the fashion of their bouquet.

The word "tuzzy" refers to the Old English word which means a "knot of flowers". Muzzy refers to the damp moss wrapped around the stems to keep them moist.

Consider taking the time this summer with your child and making a "tussie mussie" to give to a grandmother, aunt or neighbor! This treat will make them VERY HAPPY!!!

Playing in my JUNK again.....

As many of you have noticed, I have not been blogging as much as I like..... If I am not blogging always know that my world is chaos!!! My month has been filled with showers, weddings, a father-in-love that was injured (4 broken ribs and a cracked pelvis) from a terrible fall and a life turned upside down! I am so thankful that I am the type of person that can look at life and have a good laugh about the situation that I/We are in!
Anyways and Anywho..... I was at my niece's wedding Saturday night (which was beautiful and pictures will be posted sometime this week) and I ran into cousin Tara. I have dearly missed Tara and the wonderful conversation that we usually have. We have so much in common and I could talk to her forever! I found out that she also shares the love of blogging and we now will forever stay in touch. I also promised her that I would put up a piece of my latest art. Tara wants me to share my art by hosting an ART Party for her and her friends! Can't wait to meet them all!
So for now..... Pray that I can find my routine again this week, I miss it so bad!!! LOL

A Gentle Reminder...

Tagged by One Vintage Hag.....

My Moose~ He is SO in style....
Can you guess what year it was?

Debbie from One Vintage Hag... http://onevintagehag.blogspot.com/2009/06/tagged-by-sue-sullivan-murphy-6-things.html tagged me for a little game where she asked me to share 6 things about myself that will help you get to know me so much better...

I have been desperate for something new to blog about... here it goes....
1) I am one of those rare people that successfully met my husband on a blind date, a few months later we were engaged and a year later.... The Big Wedding! I have been married to Reid 27 years (His name was Moose when we met, but my MOM told me that I was not allowed to marry a Moose, therefore his name changed). He is truly my best friend and is the BEST ROLE MODEL for my children.
2) Two children... Chase, 25, recently engaged to the most wonderful and beautiful girl~ Jackie! I was so proud of all of the effort that he put into his proposal! Whitney is my beautiful 21 year old daughter at Auburn University. A true Romantic through and through!
3) I have lived with a chronic illness for 19 years.... I have IVIG treatments every month and my life is like a rollercoaster~ One day up, two days down.
4) I became an artist out of desperation of surviving my last child leaving the nest! It was a gift that God had placed in my heart years and years ago.
5) I have very few friends that have been steady.... It is hard for most to understand a chronic illness and except it. Also, I hate to burden people with the fact that I cannot be there for them always and as I guess it really is true.... You have to be a friend to have a friend! I cannot ever express enough to the girls who have been so solid through the years.... For being the friend when I could not return the friendship.....You know who you are, I love you so much and your friendship is one of the greatest gifts that I have received!
6) #6 is the most important~ My happiness and success is found through Jesus Christ. He is the reason that I roll out of bed every morning and the reason I go to bed every night with a smile and thankfulness in my heart. It is though Him that I survive some days! I know He has a purpose for this battered body and I hope every day that I meet His will for my life!

A Little Peek at MY new project....

Every once in awhile I like to make a "Rag Garland"! Having space at Vintage Village, I wanted to decorate for the 4th of July, so the red, white and blue fabric came out and a garland was started! I still have a couple more things I want to add to my garland. I will let you see it before I send it to Vintage Village to hopefully find a new home!
By the way..... How do you spend the 4th of July?
