Charmed, I'm Sure......

After attending "Art and Soul" and also loving my friend Debbie's necklace, I had to make me one! I went through all of my vintage jewelry, vintage trinkets and charms collecting anything that was "Yvette" or as my niece's and nephew's call me E. I sat for a couple of hours attaching the pieces to an old silver necklace and this is what I ended up with! I think I will wear it to the wedding next week! I am sure everyone will think I am "Charming"...... LOL

Tussie Mussie Time....
During the nineteenth century the "tussie-mussie" reached great popularity as a means for lovers to convey secret messages of sentiment and affection in a proper Victorian society. During this time it was considered more suitable for young women to wear flowers moreso than jewelry. Proper Victorian ladies would up at fashionable social gatherings carrying their "tussie-mussies" and could have been questioned on the fashion of their bouquet.
The word "tuzzy" refers to the Old English word which means a "knot of flowers". Muzzy refers to the damp moss wrapped around the stems to keep them moist.
Consider taking the time this summer with your child and making a "tussie mussie" to give to a grandmother, aunt or neighbor! This treat will make them VERY HAPPY!!!

Playing in my JUNK again.....

As many of you have noticed, I have not been blogging as much as I like..... If I am not blogging always know that my world is chaos!!! My month has been filled with showers, weddings, a father-in-love that was injured (4 broken ribs and a cracked pelvis) from a terrible fall and a life turned upside down! I am so thankful that I am the type of person that can look at life and have a good laugh about the situation that I/We are in!

A Little Peek at MY new project....
Every once in awhile I like to make a "Rag Garland"! Having space at Vintage Village, I wanted to decorate for the 4th of July, so the red, white and blue fabric came out and a garland was started! I still have a couple more things I want to add to my garland. I will let you see it before I send it to Vintage Village to hopefully find a new home!
